about

After my 3/80 acoustic concert in the main auditorium of my college (2+ hours of comedy to an audience of 1100!), I began to concentrate on writing electronic music on synthesizers. I was fascinated to be able to work with different instrument sounds and textures. I loved combining realistic acoustic instrument sounds with purely electronic sounds. I wrote many of my own signature patches (sounds) in those days... my sax sound, my distorted guitar, acoustic guitars, as well as lots of lush analog synthesizer pads. In the mid 1980's, the band Aerosmith toured using some Oberheim patches I wrote!

"Short Stories" is the first of two collections of electronic pieces I did between 1982 and 1992. Imagine that these pieces of music were written as scores to movies that never existed. The collection begins with four songs which constitute the "Lady and the Matador Suite" which tells a musical love story and got a bunch of Spanish music out of my system. ;-)

Bonus tracks include my cover of "The Flesh Failures/Let the Sunshine In" from Hair and a song called "Requiem" that was originally part of the Lady and the Matador Suite.
